The best way to learn to knit is to go to a class so that you can practice with someone looking over you. Maybe I am biased but I was taught to knit by my grandma (many years ago I may add) and remember making lots of mistakes at first. But after a short time I got it. I did still have problems with dropping stitches and holding the yarn too tight or too slack but with practice I soon found myself knitting lots of things. It is a hobby that I have enjoyed ever since and I am sure you will do too.

Of course this is not always possible and so I am going to help by going through the techniques in these pages. Over the coming weeks I will be adding the basics of knitting for beginners, as well as tips for more experienced knitters so please look back often or better still why not sign up for our newsletter and then you will be informed as a new chapter is added.

I also have classes for those of you who are happy to travel to Islington in North London, although they are full at this time. If you would like details of these classes and would like to be added to the waiting list then please email us and again subscribe to our newsletter and I will contact you shortly with extra dates that I will be adding soon.
